Enhanced Security Measures

As part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen security and protect organizational data, we are introducing several key updates to enhance system protection and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Windows Login Changes

Based on CIS (Center for Internet Security) Controls, we are implementing the following updates:

  • Ctrl+Alt+Del Requirement for Login: Users will need to press Ctrl+Alt+Del before entering credentials, adding an extra layer of protection against unauthorized access.
  • Inactivity Lockout: Devices will automatically lock after a 15-minute period of inactivity to prevent unauthorized access to unattended systems.
  • Restrictions on Personal Accounts: The use of personal Microsoft accounts for accessing organizational systems or storing company data will no longer be permitted, ensuring better control over sensitive information.

These updates are designed to safeguard our systems, protect sensitive data, and reduce potential security risks.

Sensitivity Labels for Microsoft 365

To complement these security measures, we are rolling out Sensitivity Labels in Microsoft 365. These labels enable classification and protection of data directly within applications like Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

Key features include:

  • Data Classification: Labels such as "Restricted," "Sensitive," or "Public" help ensure appropriate handling and visibility of content.
  • Automatic Protections: Depending on the label, protections like encryption, access restrictions, and watermarks are applied automatically.
  • Ease of Use: Sensitivity Labels are seamlessly integrated into Microsoft 365, making it easy for users to classify and protect data during their regular workflows.

These measures aim to prevent accidental data leaks, protect sensitive information, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
