Network Services details all of the components that use the infrastructure of wires, servers, and wireless systems on campus. Information about file sharing, backup, and restoration can also be found in this service.
University Computing Support Services (UCSS) will install and maintain the virtual machine instance, including appropriate system software. UCSS will monitor the system and provide support based on the Service Level described below. All computer systems will be housed in a UCSS data center.
Service Offerings and Prices
Network File Shares allow departments to have a central storage for files to be stored and used by others within the department. Each File Share is initially set up with 100GB per share. These shares are managed, maintained, & backed up by UCSS to keep them operating properly.
Networking Services maintains a wired network to provide connection to the internet from campus.
Wired connections require a device equipped with a network interface card (NIC) configured for DHCP, or documented static configuration and a CAT 5e or CAT 6 RJ-45 unshielded twisted pair (UTP) patch cable, and registration on the network.
