Zoom Pro is HERE!

Thu, 08/13/2020 - 10:46am -- David Savoie

Faculty can now begin accessing Zoom Pro licenses in order to host longer course meetings and share Zoom cloud recordings with students.

Classrooms across campus — 175 in total — have been updated with additional technology to enable faculty to use Zoom in their classrooms for HyFlex instruction.

For tips on integrating this technology, watch this video from the Office of Distance Learning (1:22 minutes).

To access your Zoom Pro license, you’ll add Zoom to your Moodle course and schedule all your meetings within Moodle by following steps in the Moodle Integration Quick Guide.

Migrating Zoom Pro licenses purchased on LacarteIf you purchased a Zoom Pro license using your LaCarte card, look for an email inviting you to join the UL Lafayette organization in Zoom. Accept the invitation by selecting “Join the Account.” Then you will be able to move your license over to the University account and receive a prorated refund. After you join the account, the Office of Distance Learning will merge your existing license with your Zoom Pro license in Moodle and send you an email when the merge is complete.

Non-teaching staffAll staff have access to Microsoft Teams, which includes both text and video conferencing capabilities. Zoom Basic licenses are also available. If you need more than 40 minutes of consecutive meeting time, submit a request form for review.

Learn about using Zoom in your course by registering for an upcoming webinar:

  • How to Communicate with Zoom

  • 2-3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18

  • 2-3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25

Additional resources are available in the Distance Learning Support Center where you can search by tools or topic to find what you need, when you need it.
