Overview
Network File Shares allow departments to have a central storage for files to be stored and used by others within the department. Each File Share is initially set up with 100GB per share. These shares are managed, maintained, & backed up by UCSS to keep them operating properly.

How does it work?
New Requests - If your department needs a space to share files within the department or other departments on campus - select "Request a New Share" on this page.
The following information is needed to process your request for a new network shared drive:
- The name and ULID of a person who will manage the drive (including approving removal/addition of people, establishing folder structure policy, etc.)
- Approval from the department's budget manager (required for payment of costs associated with providing the storage space on UCSS server system) There is a yearly charge of $100 per 100GB share drive.
- Department budget code information (Banner uses the FOAPAL for purchases charged to department's budget account)
Please have this information ready before proceeding with the Shared Drive request.
Existing Shares - If you have an existing file share and need to modify it, including increasing storage space - "Request Access" or "Increase Quota" on this page.
Report an Issue - If you are having issues with your file share - select "Report an Issue" on this page.
How Do I Use It?
Most file shares are mapped to your computer using a pre-selected drive letter. Someone from Destkop Services can assist you with configuring your computer to map a drive if you need assistance. Select the Report an Issue button on this page to request help.
