Overview
Some Mac users may encounter an issue where Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) open documents in Read-Only mode, preventing editing and saving. This usually happens because of corrupted credentials stored in the Mac’s Keychain or outdated license information.

This guide walks you through step-by-step instructions to resolve the problem so you can get back to editing and collaborating on your files.
Steps to Fix the Issue
	- Close Microsoft 365 Apps
	
		- Sign out of your account (Word → Sign Out).
 
		- Quit all Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
 
	
	 
	- Open Keychain Access
	
		- Use Spotlight Search (Cmd + Space).
 
		- Type Keychain and open Keychain Access.
		

		 
	
	 
	- Delete Microsoft Keys in Keychain
	
		- In Keychain Access, use the search bar to search for “Microsoft.”
		

		 
		- Delete any items that contain “Microsoft.”
 
		- Close Keychain Access.
 
	
	 
	- Sign Back In
	
		- Open Microsoft Word.
 
		- Sign in again with your ULID@louisiana.edu credentials.
		

		 
		- Check if you can now edit your documents.
 
	
	 
	- Reinstall Office (if Needed)
