    VOIP Telephone

    Voice of Internet Protocol (VoIP) is a relatively new way of providing telephone service.  Think of VoIP as a virtual telephone.  You are assigned a phone number provided by the University through a VoIP service provider .  Using the provider's mobile or desktop applications, or a device resembling the traditional desktop phone set, you can place or receive calls using the phone number provided.

    Virtual Machine

    University Computing Support Services (UCSS) will install and maintain the virtual machine instance, including appropriate system software.  UCSS will monitor the system and provide support based on the Service Level described below. All computer systems will be housed in a UCSS data center.

    Cellular Device

    Requests are initiated by calling 337-482-HELP (24357] OR by completing the on-line request form. 

    All requests must include full justification and appropriate department approval is required before the request is processed for consideration.  

    The request for wireless telephone service MUST indicate that the use of alternative means of communicating have been considered and are less economical, impractical, or unavailable.

    Electronic Doors (E-Lock)

    E-Lock Service


    E-Lock service provides an alternative to giving brass keys for access to areas. Keys do not provide any records or accountability, nor do they offer any time use restrictions. An e-lock can be configured to allow access to specific individuals during certain times, while maintaining logs of usage. Access to e-Locks can be modified at any time without having to visit the door.
